How to import VRO to Windows Movie Maker

"I have a video of our holiday taken with my Camcorder back 1997. I spent a few hours learning Windows Movie Maker. My DVD has given the footage a file extension .VRO which I know many DVD's recordsers do, but Movie Maker does support this file type. Does anyone know a reliable piece of software that will convert my VRO file to a readable file in Movie maker.
