"Recenetly, I got a Canon XF305 professional camcorder which records MXF format files. I am using Apple Final Cut Pro X with Mountain Lion operating system. Is there a tool which can help me when ingesting with Final Cut Pro"
Canon XF305 is one of Canon’s first file-based professional camcorders that takes advantage of the latest HD technology--along with Canon's newly developed MPEG-2 4:2:2 codec--to record 1920*1080 Full HD MXF video to widely available Compact Flash cards.
MXF is not a good format for many video editing programs like Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express or iMovie etc, If you want to edit Canon XF305 MXF with FCP on Mac, you may have to change the MXF to Apple ProRes, the most compatible format for Final Cut Pro.
Here, we suggest MXF Converter Mac which is specically developed for converting Canon XF series camcorder like Canon XF305, Canon XF300, Canon XF105, Canon XF100 and Canon C300 MXF files to Final Cut Pro friendly Prores MOV files.
Besides, MXF Converter for Mac can also convert MXF files shoting from other camcorders such as Panasonic P2 MXF, Sony XDCAM MXF files to Prores MOV for editing in MXF and to other file formats as well like AVI, WMV, MPG, MP4, FLV, MKV, 3GP, SWF, DV, VOB etc
