Sony newly released a professional 4K handheld XDCAM camcorder PXW-Z100. The new model broadens professional 4K capabilities to markets and applications beyond motion picture or high-end TV production – including houses of worship, education, corporate, and live events.
Sony PXW-Z100 uses Sony’s XAVC™* recording format first employed in Sony’s PMW-F55 CineAlta® 4K camera. MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression is used for HD (1920×1080), QFHD (3840×2016) and 4K (4096×2160) content.
As the new XAVC video format can't be supported by most video editing programs, it is maybe difficult for you to edit Sony PXW-Z100 4K XAVC videos on Mac. However, don't worry, you can still do it with the help of some professional third-party video editing program such as PavTube HD Video Converter for Mac.
Pavtube HD Converter for Mac can fast and best convert Sony PXW-Z100 4K AVC, Sony FDR-AX1 XAVC and Sony F55/F5 4K XAVC videos as well to Mac friendly AIC MOV or Prores MOV files for free editing in iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
